Molly Cantor's "Serving Bowl with Birds and Vines" is made of wheel thrown and slip carved porcelain.  Dimensions:  3 1/2" by 9" by 9"

Artist's Statement:

"I always thought I'd grow up to be an artist, drawing dogs and flowers and fairy-tale princesses.  As a result, I resisted this impractical fantasy until 1993, when I gave in to the inevitable, and committed myself to working in clay, the perfect blend of art and function.  I hand build or throw each of my pieces of pottery and sculpture, paint on layers of clay and carve images of flowers and critters and elements of life in New England.  No princesses yet.  I finish much of my work in my wood fired kiln, cutting and chopping wood, and stoking for up to 24 hours.  Some pieces are fired through the miracle of electricity.  This pottery is fully functional and food safe.  Please enjoy using it at your table.  It may be put in the dishwasher, though I don't recommend the microwave."
