Charles Malzenski is a former student of the Hartford Art School. He currently divides his time between his cottage and studio in Warwick, Massachusetts and a studio in South Georgia.
His landscape paintings return the geography to a time without human population, preferring the rolling hills and rivers to be untouched by modern influences. His breathtaking skies are derived from photographs and memory from a number of locations throughout the country. Combining these views, Malzenski creates recognizable local landscapes awash with unique color and light.
Malzenski’s work is recognized locally as well as abroad in a number of visual and conceptual art forums as well as in private and museum collections. He has participated in many group shows and his work has been highlighted in several national and international publications. In the Pioneer Valley, Charles Malzenski’s work is represented by Hart Gallery/Guild Art Center in Northampton.
