This red wine is a delicious and velvety wine, soft and dry with rich flavors of black cherries, dark chocolate and raspberry. The second bottle is Esser Merlot (vintage 2006). It's flavor is a delicious and supple display of bright bouquet of red fruit aromas with hints of sweet blackberries and tea. Rich flavors of currant, strawberry and dark chocolate with a wonderful, lingering aftertaste. Both go well with meat dishes, pastas, pizza, and cheeses.
