Description
This manual provides ideas for therapist and teachers working with
children within the autism spectrum. It is designed to be used as a
tool for pediatric occupational therapists, physical therapists, and
speech and language pathologists interested in providing structures
peer play activities with a sensory motor foundation.
All play activities are based on a model developed at Developmental
Pathways for Kids, in Redwood City. By utilizing sensory integration
strategies within an Integrated Play Groups format, therapists can add
another dimension to treatment sessions.

Glenda Fuge, MS, OTR/L is on the Occupational Therapy faculty at San
Jose State University where she teaches sensory integration theory.
Currently, Glenda is co-founder of Developmental Pathways for Kids, a
private practice in Redwood City, California, where she specializes in
Sensory Integration treatment and Integrated Play Groups for children
with autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, behavioral
dysfunction and other self-regulation problems. In addition to
presenting numerous times at the Autism Society of America's national
conference, she travels extensively presenting to teachers, parents,
and therapists nationwide. In addition to her professional career,
Glenda serves on the Commission on Disabilities for San Mateo County,
and most recently, Glenda co-wrote a FEMA grant to develop a
comprehensive disabilities training program for firefighters and
paramedics. Her book, Pathways to Play is available through AAPC.
