Most recently (June '07) I was invited to take the School's Attuned program based on Dr. Mel Levine's books, The Myth of Laziness, and A Mind at a Time . . . . Dr. Levine reaffirms what I have always believed, and added much, in helping me help students to recognize and deal with both their learning strengths and weaknesses, and dymystifying them both so no one ever feels he/she is alone in process of learning. For we all have our strengths and weaknesses, and they both can be managed to help us learn and shine in our own way. This book and course has changed my tutoring from being a "homework helper" to more of a learning coach, moving my student onto independent learning and heightened self esteem with newly found techniques and self acceptance.
