Jack Lawing is a native of Marion, North Carolina. He received his law degree from Harvard after graduating from the University of North Carolina and doing graduate work at the University in Munich, Germany. He began photography seriously as a staff attorney for Eastman Kodak Company. His best-known images are of eccentric Southern scenes.
