Description
Wine lovers, we've put together a basket of three interesting wines as follows:
2005 Paraduxx -- This wine is medium-bodied with a chewy texture,
robust yet approachable tannins, and a firm, lengthy finish. Ripe flavors of raspberry, red cherry, and boysenberry are balanced by complex notes of dark chocolate, espresso bean, and black licorice
2005 Susana Balbo Malbec Mendoza -- Beautiful deep violet color with exploding aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and violets. The wonderful aromas are mirrored on the palate, and they are joined
by ripe plum fruit and a hint of toasty vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, and a hint of mint on the finish. A fairly full-bodied Malbec, and it has plenty of fine, velvety tannins to carry the very long finish. Pairs well with a wide range of foods from beef and pork to game birds or even meatbased pastas.
2006 Malvira Roero Arneis (Rated Top 10 Italian Wines by the London Telegraph) -- Arneis is grown mainly in the Roero hills in southern Piedmont, but, as its popularity increases, it is seen as far afield as California and Australia. This example, with grapes from five separate vineyards, spent time on its lees, lending nice weight to the citrussy, peachy fruit. Try it with salt-baked cod or chicken cacciatore.
