The Red Tanagers Ceramic Bowl was inspired by the harlequin images of the Commedia dell'arte. Strips of tape were placed on the bowl to create triangular shapes. Each one was numbered to ensure that each child would have an even space to express their coloring enthusiasm. The children then played a little game where they pulled a number out of a hat to determine which spot to paint in their own choice of color.
