Rees Jones designed the course with the intention of giving the golfer a concept as he stands over the ball. To achieve this, he elevated tees when possible, graded fairways and added bunkers, pockets and berms or mounds. He used naturally appearing features to help contain slightly errant shots and provide a variety of approach shots."
