Now celebrating its 20th year at the Kennedy Center, Washington’s Shear Madness takes place in a Georgetown hairstyling salon where the comings and goings of the flamboyant salon proprietor, his streetwise assistant, and the zany customers in the shop lead up to a madcap murder reminiscent of the Marx Brothers. The comedy whodunit Shear Madness has been performed in the Kennedy Center's Theatre Lab for approximately 8,300 performances making it the second longest-running play in the history of the American Theatre (Its sister productions in Boston and Chicago are #1 and #3).  Shear Madness is the longest-running show in Kennedy Center history and plays 8 times each week in the Theatre Lab Cabaret, an intimate 400-seat theatre.
