An overnight stay for two and breakfast at the Hallauer House Bed & Breakfast, and then invite friends and family to join you on a guided tour for up to ten visitors to the Oberlin Heritage Center's beautifully preserved historic sites, including the option of an expanded guided tour that includes a leisurely walk thrugh Oberlin's historic downtown and the Oberlin College campus. Also included is a tote bag with OHC souvenirs incuding books, cd of music, toys, mugs, towels, discount coupon and tee shirts (one bag).
Learn about the lifestyles and architecture of historic Oberlin through three historic sites that tell the unique, nationally significant story of the community and college in Oberlin from their beginning in 1833 until the 1930s. Learn about abolition and the Underground Railroad, aluminum history, women's history, decorative arts, temperance, student life, and more. The Oberlin Heritage Center is a facility of the National Park Service Underground Railroad Network to Freedom and has been accredited by the American Association of Museums.
Souvenirs include a collection of books relating to Oberlin's history, including The Town That Started The Civil War by Nat Brandt, a compact disc Steal Away with songs of the Underground Railroad, an assortment of old-fashioned toys, a reproduction print of the 1868 Birds Eye View of Oberlin, mugs, tea towels, tee-shirts and more.
Special Instructions
Valid through May 2009. Two of the three buildings are handicapped accessible. Advance reservations requested for both tours and lodging. Hallauer House B&B is good Sunday through Thursday.
