Conrad Mansion Museum in Kalispell, MT - Tour for two

Item Number: 178
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
A guided tour for two of the elegant Conrad Mansion Museum, a National Historic Site.
The Conrad Mansion sits proudly today on the edge of the original townsite, atop a bluff overlooking the valley and the Swan mountain range. Visit the most beautifully preservaed pre-1900 mansion in the Pacific Northwest and experience a bygone era. A tour of this historic museum tells the story of a Montana pioneer and his family, and takes visitors into the past. Designed by Spokane architect, Kirtland Cutter, and completed in 1895, the home's exterior is punctuated by arches, long gables, bay windows and massive native stone chimneys. The horizontal lines belie its 13,000 square foot and 26 room Norman style interior, which features quarter sawn oak trim and paneling, eight massive sandstone fireplaces, and wrought iron dual purpose light fixtures. The windows in the home are consistently exquisite; diamond paned leaded glass windows are featured in most rooms, while several of the main rooms highlight colored & clear bottle glass, as well as 11 panels of Tiffany style stained glass.
