Description

A day of golf at an historic 1894 lakeside course, before or after a special curator-led tour for four (4) and cocktails on the verandah at Hyde Hall, Coopertown, New York's great neo-classical estate mansion (circa 1818 and 1830) overlooking the famed 'Glimmerglass' Lake of Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales. A National Historic Landmark and New York State Historic Site.
Join the curator of this summer's special exhibit on 1890-1910's "Vintage Golf and Golfers from Hyde Hall" -- a great, previously unseen collection of period clubs, silver loving cups, early course and tournament memorabilia, photos, and the family's intimate connections to America's earliest golf courses and golf course designers -- and stay for cocktails on the verandah which boasts the best view in all of Cooperstown. Then play a round at the 1894 Otsego Golf Course, one of the very earliest clubs in the States, and a Devereux Emmet favorite!
