Description

A wonderful Barolo! This rich Nebbiolo wine is elegant and supple. Beautiful bright purple color. The nose exhales flinty notes mixed with ripe black fruits and under wood. At the palate, it is a full bodied wine, meaty, with present tannins and notes of granite and limestone...a serious wine for a serious celebration. Its aging potential is great but drinks well now opened and breathed. Well balanced acidity with a tannic finish. Cascina Adelaide produces some of the most remarkable wines from the Northern Italian region of Piemonte. The vineyards existed for over 100 years, but in 1999 the winery facilities were upgraded by Amabile Drocco. Until then, Cascina Adelaide had been known for its quality vineyards, but since the early 2000s, it has been ranked as one of the top producing wineries in this region of Italy known around the world for its top quality wines. Will be superb in 2012. Rating: 96 points
