Description

A beautifully made wine with lots of character that is ready to drink now. Meaty, with loads of mushroom and berry character. Fullbodied, with velvety tannins and a long, slightly dry finish. The vineyards are on the clay soil of the plateau of Pomerol, which is the highest ground in the commune. The planting is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc with an average vine age of 35 years. Chateau Certan-de-May is located in the plateau of Pomerol. The commune of Pomerol is found on the right bank of the Gironde Estuary in the Bordeaux region of Southwestern France. Other great wines hailing from the Pomerol region include Chateau Petrus and Vieux Chateau Certan. This wine is worthy of any celebration and will be ready to drink this year. Rating: 90, Robert Parker
