k.d. lang marked her return to the recording of her own songs earlier this year with the release of watershed. It was greeted with all the anticipation and fanfare it so richly deserved. With lang as writer, singer, instrumentalist and first-time producer watershed was described as "perhaps (her) most confident and revealing work" to date. As editor-in-chief Melvin McLeod discovered when interviewing her for the Shambhala Sun "watershed reflects the dramatic changes in her life since she became a committed Buddhist."

In her own words "the idea of watershed has a great deal of pertinence to becoming a Buddhist and following the path. It seems to me that the flow of dharma-or the flow of one's own innate buddhanature-is like water. There are obstacles, but eventually the water will find its way around them. A change of direction happens when you take refuge and become a practitioner."
