You can almost feel the warmth emanating from the light on the petals of this lily. Michael Welch has superbly captured the flower's fragility, strength and beauty. We are very happy to have this piece from his Pond series for offer in the auction.

Michael's more recent work includes a bird series painted for the Soil Born Food Project, an initiative that directly involves youth and adults in everything from the growing to distributing of food.

Born and raised in Northern California, Michael Welch has been influenced by a wide range of artists: Mexican muralist Diego Rivera, expressionists Nathan Olivera and Fritz Scholder, and a number of contemporary illustrators. Some of his clients include the State of California, Sierra magazine, The Nature Company, Nordstrom, the Sacramento Bee, Tower Records, Yoga Journal. His work has been shown at the California Works Exhibition, the California State Fair and various Northern California galleries.
