Description
Nalanda West is honoured to be hosting Pema Chodron in Seattle next July when she'll be teaching from No Time to Lose, her 2007 book on the way of the bodhisattva. In this book she addresses one of the most important of all spiritual questions - how to free ourselves from the powerful spell of emotional afflictions. When published Spirituality and Practice said of Pema Chodron that "Whether she is explaining loving kindness and the tonglen meditation practice or dealing with the messy parts of ourselves that give us so much trouble, (she) speaks directly to the human condition."
Chödrön calls No Time to Lose "the essential guidebook for fledgling bodhisattvas, those spiritual warriors who long to alleviate suffering, their own and that of others." It contains Shantideva's instructions to himself about compassion and the cultivation of non-dual wisdom.
Nalanda West was established in Seattle, Washington, in 2003 to serve the international Nalandabodhi community - a network of study and meditation centers. As a center it is "a gateway to the buddhist sciences of mind for individuals to draw upon as they wish".
The Pema Chodron program "No Time to Lose" will take place over three days, Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12, 2009. The successful bidder for this item will receive credit to attend the full program and enjoy preferred seating.
