The Brooklyn Museum, located at 200 Eastern Parkway is the second largest art museum in New York City, and one of the largest in the United States.  Its permanent collection includes ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary art, and the art of many other cultures. Housed in a 560,000 square foot (Beaux-Arts building, the museum is aserviced by the Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum subway station on the 2 3 4.  Every first Saturday of every month the Brooklyn Museum has free family events, which include arts and crafts,live music and a dance party. The museum stays open late. But for many kids, it all goes back to one word: mummies.
