Description
3 Femmes's exquisite new collection of bedding and textiles (hand-blocked in India) melds the age-old tradition of block-printing with modern flair and bold color to create a look that is both classic and chic.
Block printing dates back to the early 17th Century and is a technique that has been used to decorate the many fabulous and sumptuous fabrics that have graced the homes of royalty. This same ancient printing process is used by 3 Femmes; each design is hand-carved into a series of teak or shelsam wood blocks by as many as five artisans, dipped into natural inks and then stamped onto the fabric. The fabric is then washed, finished and stitched entirely by hand. This timeless technique, combined with designs that have been reinterpreted for a luxurious modern aesthetic, now has the opportunity to grace your home.
3 Femmes references 3 women from 3 generations: mother, grandmother and daughter—all of whom have one very important element in common, an Indian heritage. This bond is at the heart of every design, where patterns and colors from their history merge with experience of the urban environment of today.
(FYI: 3 Femmes is the brand-new home line from acclaimed accessories designer Preeti Chawla, whose equally exquisite Mandala bags have been sold for really big money at Barneys, Intermix and Henri Bendel.)
