PreK parent and Bronx activist and politician Paul Lipson will take one adult on a kayak tour of Barretto Bay (northern reaches of East River, near the entrance to the Sound). Trip will include circumnavigation of two long deserted islands—one a bird sanctuary that was once a civil war training camp, and the other a quarantine island that was the home of “Typhoid” Mary Mallon from 1920 until her death.
