There were stores brimming with hop sacks of grain, lodging houses run by the city's many war widows and, for the Olde New York shopaholics, the first Brooks Brothers and Lord & Taylor's. Private tours are usually $30 a person and generally last 2–3 hours, so the more people you bring, the more value your bid gets you.
