Joe Sam had been commissioned to create sculptures and murals.  He has made miniatures of his original artwork.  The original artwork is owned and commissioned by Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, CA.

JoeSam is a mixed media painter and sculptor. The content of his work is often social and political commentary. His style is characterized by the juxtaposition of diverse, independent, often quite simple elements and his use of bright colors, reflective of his African American heritage. Some of his public art can be seen in San Jose, CA and the surrounding communities.
