Is your son considering a medical career? Want to tour select Wisconsin colleges? Neonatologist Jeff Garland (father of Graham, ’09) and family are offering an amazing opportunity to explore your options in style!

This week-long internship has been designed to offer your son a chance to investigate a career in medicine before making that long-term life decision. He’ll receive a first-hand look at the life in a typical physician household, shadow physicians in one of the country’s busiest neonatal units, attend medical and organizational meetings, interview current physicians regarding the pros and cons of a medical career, all the while making valuable contacts. Here’s his chance to gauge how reality measures up to his expectations!!

Mornings will be spent at one of eight different Milwaukee area hospital neonatal units, while afternoons and evenings will be free to enjoy swimming, golf, attending sporting events, and/or music and ethnic festivals, such as Summerfest (June 26-July6) – the largest music festival in the world! Ethnic festivals include Bastille Days (July 10-13), Greek Fest (July 11-13), Festa Italiana (July 17-20), or German Fest (July 25-27). Recommended: Celebrate July 4^th in typical American heartland-style with lakefront fireworks display, parades, picnics, and an extraordinary private club fireworks display enjoyed from our private patio or hot tub (July 3&4).

Depending on interest level, winning bidder may choose to tour local Wisconsin colleges, including Lawrence University, Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

$200 cash honorarium towards travel to Wisconsin provided. All miscellaneous expenses (food, laundry, travel within Wisconsin, golf, festival/sporting entrance fees, and such) are also included. Accommodations include private bedroom suite overlooking fabulous golf course.

NOTE: Internship must be scheduled for any 7-day stint during July 1-25, 2008 only!
