A Unique Glowing Chartres Finger Labyrinth

Item Number: 140
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
This unique work of art was created by labyrinth craftsman John Ridder, as part of the 2008 Midwest labyrinth Gathering’s “Spontaneous Time” at the Creation Station.
This unique piece measures 18 x 18 inches. The canvas is sealed, stretched on an 18x18x ¾ inch frame, and ready to hang ‘as-is’ or, optionally you can add a frame of your choice.
It is painted on the same canvas used to make portable labyrinths.
The artwork was coincidentally (or perhaps mystically?) created on June 21, the summer solstice. The Chartres pattern is the exact same size as a full size, walnut hardwood 18-inch finger meditation tool. Purple dimensional acrylic paint was painstakingly applied to the pattern with additional accents in turquoise, white and ‘glow in the dark’ acrylics. The pattern lines are raised just enough to be followed by finger touch. (Although this requires a bit of patience, but isn’t that what labyrinth walking is all about?)
The Glowing accents add a final dimension of warmth to the work, which might just lighten up an otherwise dark day! (See second picture)
Special Instructions
The piece of canvas used for this artwork is actually a canvas labyrinth remainder. It was once “connected by its threads” to a full size canvas labyrinth made by Paxworks and being walked by somebody somewhere……… (When the labyrinth-crafter trims the canvas corners to make the octagonal outer shape of the labyrinth the scraps are saved to be donated to charity, or become unique artwork.)
