The Festival of Harps (sm) is a series of concerts and educational outreach programs which have grown from a San Francisco grassroots movement to an eagerly awaited annual event at major concert halls throughout Northern California. The Festival features virtuoso harpists from many cultures playing traditional, classical and original music that encompasses the finest ancient and modern styles, dramatizing the unity of the world's people and cultures through the universal language of music.

This compilation grew out of a number of recordings that were engineered by Lou Judson and taken from the sound board of the Festival of Harps (FOH) "Guru of Sound," Allen Lam.  The recording was edited by Lou and FOH Director Diana Stork  over a period of many weeks. Choosing from the scores of recordings and artists was a daunting task, but they finally agreed upon the present selection which they feel represents the scope of the Festival and the range and beauty of the harp.

All the artists generously donated their performances in these recordings to help benefit the Festival's sponsor, the Multi-Cultural Music Fellowship (MCMF), a 501 c 3 California non-profit.  For more information on MCMF, please visit the MCMF website: http://multiculturalmusicfellowship.org/
