Description
This beautiful photo was created by Lloyd Matsumoto. The flowers in this image are common to New England gardens. Yarrow (Achillea) and the purple coneflower (Echinacea) serve as counterpoints in the early morning light. The bright yellow yarrow contrasts with the partially visible petals of the purple coneflower. What ties these counterpoints together is the regal, crown-like splendor of the purple coneflower bud. But most people never see images like this because this image was captured on film with the earliest light of dawn when most reasonable people are still sleeping.
