A native of Galveston, Texas, Bill moved to Dallas and was working as a disc jockey with plans of becoming of a teacher. While in a nightclub one evening, Bill decided to try his hand at stand-up comedy and quickly found that making people laugh was truly his forte. Soon after, he decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue television opportunities.  Bill now resides in Southern California with his wife and two children. A few of Engvall’s projects include: Starring in and executive producer of “The Bill Engvall Show” a new half hour sitcom airing on TBS, hosting Country Fried Home Videos on CMT, starred in “Bait Shop” with Billy Ray Cyrus and “Delta Farce” with Larry the Cable Guy.  Bill was also one of the stars of the comedy show “Blue Collar TV” on the WB network in addition to the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” and the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour, The Movie”, which has sold more than 4 million DVD/VHS units.  Engvall does more than just television and movies though, he is also a platinum recording artist.  His first album, “Here’s Your Sign” held the #1 position on the Billboard Comedy Chart for 15 straight weeks.  His second CD, “Dorkfish” has been certified gold and also ranked #1 on the chart.  Engvall has also written several books, including his autobiography “Bill Engvall – Just a Guy” in 2007.
