Peterson attended Palestine High School and the University of Oklahoma before being drafted by the NFL's Minnesota Vikings in 2007. In his rookie year, Peterson rushed for 1,341 yards, including an NFL-one-game-record total of 296 against the San Diego Chargers. He was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year.
