This is a beautiful hand-dyed silk scarf that has been felted using a technique called nuno felting or laminating.  This process involves encasing a woven fabric (like silk) in layers of wool by applying wet wool roving to the fabric and subjecting it to pressure.  This is a very labor intensive process.

This silk scarf features a beautiful sunburst pattern in hot reds, oranges, and yellows, and is accented with bands of felted wool in reds, yellows, and even a deep magenta.  This is a real show-stopper!  

Note that the silk is hand-dyed, as well as the wool!
