Home party - learn to make your own organic lotion

Item Number: 248
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
Gather up to 8 of your closest friends and learn to make body lotion in your own home. The lotion is free of additives, preservatives or colorants, and uses only vegetable and essential oils and herb tisanes as ingredients. An excellent, wonderfully-scented lotion that has been used successfully in the Linden Corner kindergarten for dry skin. In addition, you will learn more about what ingredients in commercial lotions you should avoid and about what herbs and essential oils can do for you. The class is led by an herbalist who has made all her own lotions, shampoos, soaps, laundry detergents, and dish soaps for years.
A note from last year's winner, "The day I turned 50, was a day filled with friends, laughter, spent creating a healthy way to retain the youthful skin of my first 50 years. Jeanne Moses came to my house equipped with large pots and pans and all the organic and healthy ingredients needed to make wonderful potions for daily care of my skin as well as a mixture designed for more restorative measures. She led us through the recipe, adapting it as needed for the group.
We all went home with a large container of a lotion that has been used daily. My family loves it, and I used it in the Kindergarten classroom for smoothing rough skin knowing it was safe for all.
You don't need to be turning 50 to enjoy this project, but you can be sure of a wonderful day, and a healthy alternative to the chemical laden products on the market that you will enjoy using."
