Description
Spend a day exploring the Rio Grande waterway with Bosque Ecosystem Monitoring Program (BEMP) Education Coordinator and naturalist Kimi Scheerer. You will spend a delightful spring day on the Rio Grande, canoeing from the Alameda Bridge to Central Bridge, approximately 3 hours plus transportation time. Learn about the curious beasts of the flooplain, bosque ecosystem dynamics and current management strategies while sunning and funning down the river!
Bosque School can commit 2 canoes, paddles and lifejackets for this trip. 3-4 passengers depending on age and size; additional canoes and canoers are welcome if other resources are found. A beginners canoe lesson, binoculars and field guides will be provided. The date of this trip is dependant on river conditions and will be schedule with Kimi (ksche@bosqueschool.org) for the Spring of 2009.
