Description

Autographed Photo of Dallas Maverick, Jerry Stackhouse!

On June 24, 2004, Stack was traded along with Christian Laettner and the draft rights to Devin Harris to the Dallas Mavericks for Antawn Jamison. While in Washington, Stack averaged 17.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. In addition to getting Stack and Devin, the Mavs also acquired Jason Terry, Alan Henderson and Erick Dampier.

As the Mavericks organization celebrated their 25th anniversary, Stack helped them have a very successful season. They finished with a record of 58-24, second best in franchise history. In addition to roster changes, the Mavs underwent a late-season head coaching change as Don Nelson resigned and Avery Johnson took over. As head coach, Avery led the Mavs to a 16-2 record.

Stack and the Mavs defeated Houston in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs but lost in the second round to the Phoenix Suns.

Stack played in 56 games, starting in 7. He averaged 14.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists while playing 28.9 minutes per game. He finished among the top candidates for Sixth Man of the Year.

2005-06 - Western Conference Champs

The 2005-06 season was indisputably the greatest in the Mavs' 26-year history. Despite losing to the Miami Heat in 6 games, the Mavs took the city of Dallas by storm by making it to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. Stack was a huge reason for the Mavs' success as he played in 55 games, including 11 starts, and averaged 13.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 27.7 minutes per game.

The Mavs tied a franchise record with 60 wins and swept the Memphis Grizzlies in the First Round of the NBA Playoffs. Then they defeated their intrastate rival and archenemy San Antonio Spurs in 7 games, including a thrilling Game 7 in San Antonio, before going on to defeat Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns in six games.

In Stack's first trip to the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat, he came off the bench to average 12.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists while playing 30 minutes per game and shooting 93% from the free-throw line.
