The gavel is used by the Speaker of the House to call the Texas House of Representatives to order at the beginning of the day. It is also used when a motion has been adopted or any time there is a record vote. This item was generously donated by Representative Charles "Doc" Anderson.
The purchaser of this item will also have the State of Texas flag flown over the State Capitol in Austin on the day of your choice and will receive a colorful certificate with your name and the date that the flag flew over the capitol.
