August 2nd is "Old Timers Day" (see below) a very special day at Yankee Stadium.  This package also includes an overnight stay at the Marriott Hotel.

Yankee stadium:  The era is ending ... after this season, they will be tearing down Yankee stadium. Yankee Stadium was built in 1923 due to the giant crowds that were drawn to watch homerun hitter Babe Ruth.  The famous stadium has become know as "The House that Ruth Built".   Yankee stadium ... Old-Timers' Day:  Every year, the Yankees invite former players to be introduced to the crowd in the hours leading up to the scheduled game.  For this reason, the actual game played on Old-Timers' day is  scheduled at 3:55 pm, and the festivities of the day begin around 2 pm.  The Old-Timers' Day ceremony involves each of the players being introduced, wearing a Yankees uniform with their number on the back, as their name, position and a short synopsis of their triumphs are read to the crowd. The old-timers are split into two teams, they gather for a photo opt and then play two or three innings of baseball.  In 2007, the Yankees announced that the Old Timers' Game will include many first time players such as Scott Brosius and Paul O'Neill.
