A retablo is one type of the devotional arts called 'santos', folk art traditions long practiced in New Mexico.

This retablo shows a painted tile of the virgin with her emanating penumbras surrounded by a hand-made tin art frame all mounted on wood ready for hanging. Made by local artist Linda Valencia Martinez.
