Description

This series of prints by A.B. Jackson was released as a special publication of the Virginian-Pilot and the Ledger-Star in the late 1960s.  Each print is approx. 12" x 12" framed. The text on the prints' accompanying sleeve reads:


"A.B. Jackson received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Fine Arts at Yale University.  Presently he is professor of art at Old Dominion College and recently was chairman of the Department of Fine Arts at Virginia State, Norfolk Division.  He has exhibited at all major museums in Virginia, as well as in major museums along the East Coast, from Boston to Charlotte.  Jackson has received numerous awards, including the instate fellowship at the Virginia Museum.  His work is in the permanent collections of Massachusetts, Yale, Howard and Virginia universities, and in many other institutions and in outstanding private collections.  Jackson's popular "Porch People" series and his Christ studies have won much acclaim.  Two works from each of these sources are represented in the enclosed prints."

This item will be available for pick-up at our auction's closing celebration, to be held at Richard Stravitz Sculpture (1217 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach) on Sunday, Dec. 7 from 1:00-5:00 pm.  If not picked up in person, the item will be mailed to the winning bidder no later than Wednesday, Dec. 10.  Packing and shipping charges (with signature and insurance) will be added to the winning bid.
