Sing and dance In ITALIAN: Children absolutely love music, our own singing, even if it is off-key, will serve to unite melody and words for our children better than any professional recording ever could. Melody is also a fantastic memory aid. Think about how much easier children learn their ABCs when they sing them, compared to just reciting them. And, the combination of music with movement and gestures will enliven it all -- as well as provide a nice outlet for squirmy toddlers.

BRAINY TUNES SCHOOL OF ROCK!
Kids' recording session at Brainy Tunes Studios in Oakland's sunny Rockridge neighborhood. Producer/engineer Ira Marlowe is delighted to work with children four and up.

In a 60- to 90-minute session, kids each get their own microphone and their own set of headphones. They sing their favorite songs--a capella, or to prepared musical tracks. (We can also accomodate children who play instruments.) The recordings are then played back, and kids get to hear themselves alone and with the group. Then they watch in fascination as their performances are mixed, mastered, and burned onto CD before their eyes and ears--as Ira explains the process in an amusing, age-appropriate way. Each child receives his or her own CD, complete with titles, credits and graphics.
