Dr. Sommerhaug is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, as well as the American Board of General Surgery. He was for several years a Professor at U.C. Davis School of Medicine in Plastic Surgery, where he taught Cosmetic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery, which included burn, trauma, cancer and pediatric cranio-facial reconstruction.

Dr. Sommerhaug has now brought his Cosmetic & Reconstructive practice to Petaluma. His specialties include cosmetic surgery (face, body & mommy makeovers) and reconstructive surgery (breast cancer reconstruction, trauma and scar revisions).
