The 24-story tower is an ode to 1970s architecture, crowned by one of Hyatt's few remaining revolving restaurants. Glazed-tile floors covered with stylish area rugs and futuristic elevators trimmed with glass blocks mark the lobby.

The Compass restaurant and lounge on the 24th floor is the hotel's best feature, spinning at lunch and dinner. The austere decor does little to distract from the panoramic views. The entrees are global in influence: Australian lamb, South American coffee-crusted rib chop, Portuguese chicken, Veal San Tropez and Caribbean-style sea bass. Located on the second floor, the Terrace Cafe serves all meals at a lesser price, as does the more stylish Networks Bar & Grill just off the lobby, where the focus is on burgers, pizza, cigars, microbrews and sports on TV. Adjacent, an Einstein's Bagel outlet supplies those on the run.

Two sundecks—one with a pool and whirlpool, one with a fountain—commandeer part of the third floor. Use of the small fitness room is free, and guests pay to use the Phoenix Suns Athletic Club three blocks away.
