Description
Reminiscent of pre-Columbian Indian cultures of the Americas, this substantial, one-of-a-kind, floor piece was created by celebrated and nationally recognized Lyndhurst sculptor, Jack Moulthrop. Standing at 23" tall x 19"x18.5" this vessel is made of ceramic stoneware with bas relief, wood handles and leather ties. The geometric patterns were derived from friezes of Uxmal and Yucatan symbology, which make this such an interesting addition to a space that already features the influences of indigenous cultures. The official title of the vessel is "PC Aura - Maya." Mouthrop's work has appeared in many exhibitions, juried competitions, museum shows, and on magazine covers. His pieces are purchased by individuals, collectors, and interior designers. All of Moulthrop's stoneware is suitable for indoor and outdoor display.
