Description

Hand painted water color etching "Wild Iris" numbered 199/200 and signed by the artist, John Furches, this 4" x 3" picture is double matted and framed to 11" x 14". The deep purple color of the iris is stunning, yet the delicacy of the image is enhanced by the white crackle matting and soft gold tone frame.  This piece is wired for hanging.

An etching is an intaglio method of print making in which the image is etched into the surface of the metal plate by acid.  The prints are not copies as each image is made by separate inking of the metal plate and then they are hand colored-making each one an original.

John Furches is best known for his ability to depict the relationships of color and nature in rural landscapes and nostalgic still life's.  His choice of the watercolors medium is especially effective in showing the delicate balance of light, color, and texture in each of this paintings.  The element of emotion is also an integral tool for John's realistic style, as he feels the artist becomes an imperfect camera without definite feelings about he image he is portraying.

Also included in this package is a beautiful metal rimmed conical cut crystal vase with removable ornate fluted dark patina-finished brass stand.  This lovely vase was donated by Lee Meier Interiors.

This is a Live Event Item.
