Description

Nationally acclaimed model boat maker, and National Sponsor for the Leukemia Cup Regatta, Ken Gardiner, has created and donated a beautiful two tone wood, hand carved replica, mounted 1/2 hull of the famous boat "America" from 1851. This would make a wonderful wall display for any office, den or sailor's residence. Notched holes in the back make this model ready for hanging.

The Vermilion Boat Club has also donated a basket filled with nautical accessories and items to make life near the water a little more fun.

Internationally known and respected sailor, Gary Jobson has signed his newest book, CHAMPIONSHIP SAILING and has offered it for auction. This hardbound book is "The Definitive Guide for Skippers, Tacticians, and Crew", and is considered "The complete guide to racing at its highest level" by five-time America's Cup Veteran and seven-time world champion, Paul Cayard. It includes advise on organizing, training and leading a crew, as well as how to practice alone, in pairs, and with a fleet. There is technical information on how to read the wind and choose the best side of the course and how to tack, jib and maneuver for advantage. As a sailor it is "a must read for those who aspire to win sailboat races at any level". Along with this beautiful book is an autographed bright red 2007 Leukemia Cup Regatta cap from one of our national sponsors, Mount Gay Rum. Whether you are a sailor or a Leukemia & Lymphoma Society supporter both of these items would be a proud acquisition to display in you home or office.

This is a Live Event Item.
