Ridge Tool Company's history in Lorain County goes back many years.  The company began manufacturing heavy duty pipe wrenches in 1923 in a small workshop in North Ridgeville, Ohio.  Pipe cutters, hand threaders, pipe vises, and tools for working copper tubing were soon introduced and, in 1943, the company moved from the North Ridgeville plant to its' new and current headquarters at 400 Clark Street in Elyria, Ohio.
