These coins range in date from 1986 to current, and from 1986 to 1991 they are Roman Numeral dated. This is a Roman Numeral dated coin. This type of Gold Eagle is no longer produced. In 1992, The U.S. Mint switched back to regular numbers on the Gold Eagles.
