These 14K gold vermeil earrings are 2.2" in length, and are hand carved in wax by Brooklyn-based artist Jennifer Sarkilahti before being cast in precious metal. The original sketches for this design were based ion an ancient Byzantine stained glass window. 

Jennifer Sarkilahti is an artist and designer in New York City. Her distinctive collection, Odette New York, includes imaginative hand-sculpted pieces in Sterling silver, solid 14K yellow and rose gold and 18K vermeil.

Each original design begins from a pencil sketch that is then carefully translated into wax by hand in Sarkilahti's Brooklyn studio. A mold is then created from the wax and the metals are cast and polished. The collection is rich in texture and whimsical designs; while the handcrafted nature of her jewelry displays an organic aesthetic that is signature to the collection.
