You are bidding on a nature inspired quilt and pillow made by the entire Morning Star Class! The quilt is made from the squares the children and aides painted, and the pillow is made from the square the teacher painted. What a perfect memento from your year in Morning Star!

This colorful and vibrant quilt and pillow were made using a "sun painting" technique on the spring equinox. Each person was able to select two fabric paint colors from either red, yellow or blue. Once painted, pressed leaves and flowers were placed on top. They included native ferns, cedar clippings and flowers and leaves the class collected on their nature walk! When the paint was dry, the leaves and flowers were removed to reveal the magic of the prints left underneath.

The quilt is made using 100% cotton fabric. The front has 2" white sashes and 4" white borders that frame the blocks nicely. Bright, sunny yellow fabric with a slight pattern resembling bubbles, was chosen for the back. The batting is 50% organic cotton and 50% naturally antibacterial bamboo fiber. The 18" pillow form is filled with 100% naturally antibacterial bamboo fiber. There is white quilt binding all the way around the edges, hand-sewn on the back.

On the back of the pillow, is a label with the teacher's symbol. On the back of the quilt, is a label with the children's and aide's symbols. Following the label, you can match up the symbol to the maker of the square. Top left on the label, is the maker of the square located at the top left on the quilt. Bottom right on the label, is the maker of the square at the bottom right of the quilt, and so on.

The set is meant to be used, washed and loved. Imagine a little one napping on the pillow with the quilt spread atop - delightful. We hope this will be loved for generations to come.
