Theatre legend Chita Rivera will bring her one-woman show The Secret of Life to the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Saturday, June 6, 2009.
Rivera fans will have a chance to witness the showbiz pro recount highlights of her Broadway career – spanning over 50 years.
Chita Rivera: The Secret of Life promises selections including West Side Story's "America"; Sweet Charity's "Where Am I Going?" and "Big Spender"; Chicago's "All That Jazz" and "Nowadays"; The Rink's "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer"; and songs from Kiss of the Spider Woman
Rivera made her Broadway debut in 1953's Can-Can. Her lengthy career includes Mr. Wonderful, Bajour and Seventh Heaven. Rivera originated the role of Anita in West Side Story and has been Tony-nominated for her work in Bye Bye Birdie, Chicago, Bring Back Birdie, Merlin, Jerry's Girls, Nine and Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life. She earned Tony Awards for the Kander and Ebb.
