Raphael Diaz' works are collected and shown internationally, especially in Spain, Latin America and Thailand. An educator as an adult, Diaz was drawn to painting as an only child living with his mother in the Projects in New York. Art allowed him to create for himself a world of extended family relationships.

This is one of a series of paintings created for Rhode Island PBS because Raphael Diaz believes that The Arts and this station serve vital roles in educating the diverse populations of Rhode Island.
