Description

This work is inspiring for its beauty AND technique: The subject is a young woman experiencing the joy of a beautiful day surrounded by nature, including the colorful Indian paintbrush flower.

The artist's technique is no less inspiring: Mary Jane has had a tremor in her right arm which forced her to relearn painting. 95% of her work is now fingerpainting; she uses a prosthetic device to hold a brush for the strokes she deftly applies. Mary Jane's style is primarily colorist, though she also describes herself as a "closet realist!"
